-Eirlys Britton

Eirlys was one of the Rhydfelen’s original pupils. From there she went on to gain a Bed degree in Drama in Trinity College Carmarthen. She became a teacher in Heol y Celyn before leaving teaching on a full time basis and followed a successful and varied acting career – firstly as Beth Leyshon in Pobol y Cwm – and was later a main character in Pam Fi Duw? Eirlys also took the lead role  in the acclaimed film ‘Yn Gymysg Oll i Gyd’

-Cliff Jones

Cliff attended Ysgol y Berwyn, Y Bala, before moving on to the Welsh College of Music and Drama, followed by a Welsh language drama course in Trinity College Carmarthen. After teaching in Cardiff and Pontypridd he moved on to the BBC where he directed and produced several programmes both in the entertainment and drama departments. Cliff left the BBC as Series Producer of Pobol y Cwm to follow a free lance career and among his latest credits are ‘Rownd a Rownd’ and ‘Istanbwl’ for S4C and ‘The Indian Doctor ‘ for BBC1. Cliff was awarded a British BAFTA for his direction of the children’s programme ‘Tecwyn y Tractor’ in 2001 in the Best Pre-school programme category.

-Gavin Ashcroft

Addysgwyd Gavin hefyd yn Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen, cyn iddo fynd yn ei flaen i astudio drama a’r cyfryngau yng Ngholeg y Brifysgol, Aberystwyth. Pan yn fachgen ifanc roedd Gavin yn actor llwyddiannus ac ymysg ei gredits mae ‘Y Mapiwr’ gyda fe’i hun fel y prif gymeriad  a ‘Selected Exits’ lle actiodd gyda Sir Anthony Hopkins’. Yn gerddor a dawnsiwr o fri mae Gavin wedi ennill yn eisteddfodau’r Urdd, y Genedlaethol ac yn Llangollen ar gystadleuthau canu Cerdd Dant a Stepio Unigol. Fe oedd enillydd y gystadleuaeth dawnsio unigol Llangollen dair gwaith o’r bron pan ddechreuodd  y gystadleuaeth. 

 

-Nerys Griffiths

Nerys is a past pupil of Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi in Llandysul. She attended Bangor University to study Welsh and Education. Whilst she was in University, she conducted the Welsh University Choir and many other smaller choirs on the Eisteddfod stage. After graduating, she went on to UWIC University in Cardiff to study to be a teacher. She now is a primary school teacher in Ysgol Gymreag Cwmbrân where she has established a children’s choir in the area called Côr Llanofer. The choir has been succsesful recently in getting through to the semi-final of ‘Côr Cymru’ and is also busy travelling to different countries, Paris and Cork. Nerys also is a member of Nantgarw Dancers and has had many opportunities to perform and competed all over Wales and overseas.

-Rhiannon Rees

Cynhyrchydd a chyfarwyddwr gyda dros 30 mlynedd o brofiad. Wedi cyfnod yn dysgu drama yn Ysgol Maes yr Yrfa a Llanharri ymunodd gyda adran blant y BBC cyn symud i fod yn gyfawyddwr a chynhyrchydd ‘Pobol y Cwm’.

 

 

-Delyth Caffery

Delyth was educated in Ysgol Gyufun Rhydfelen before going on to Trinity College Carmarthen, to graduate in Theatre, Music and Media Studies. After college she joinrd the Menter Iaith Team and went on to become a Development Officer with Urdd Gobaith Cymru. She had a short period of work with the television company Boomerang she became a teacher and is now Head of the Drama & Media Department in Ysgol y Cymer, Porth, Rhondda.
